David Lauer Photography is happy to be a part of this years IIDA Rocky Mountain Chapter's BESTawards Celebration. Not only are several of our clients up for awards this year, we also donated a fine-art print to the silent auction. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the IIDA RMC fundraising efforts towards the Colorado Interior Design Coalition (CIDC) and to the IIDA RMC Education Fund in Honor of Pam Weeks.

MILLER HOUSE PHOTOGRAPH | DONATED AND PHOTOGRAPHED BY DAVID LAUER PHOTOGRAPHY
Commissioned by industrialist and philanthropist J. Irwin Miller in 1953, The Miller House is the masterpiece of architect Eero Saarinen and expands upon an architectural tradition developed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe—epitomizing the international Modernist aesthetic— with an open and flowing layout, flat roof and stone and glass walls. This home is now owned and cared for by the Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA) and offers visitors the opportunity to experience one of the finest expressions of American modernism, an integration of house and landscape that draws upon historical precedents without repeating them, enfolding them in a compelling composition of forms and spaces that captures the genius of its designers, aspirations of its owners and spirit of their time.
David Lauer was given a rare opportunity to photograph the house freely, with only his own priorities and vision guiding him. He came away with what the IMA called some of the finest photos yet captured of the iconic home.
